I have had a unique journey as I have sought out truth as it pertains to God and the possibility of revelation. Of course, the object of knowldege and belief is spiritual growth. Two wars have raged - one for truth, another for peace. Click on my journal link to check out my current battles. These are my prayers to God. My truth search phase is mostly behind me. I have looked hard and continue to listen. Naturally, my prayers reflect my understanding.

The choice of a person's religion is not a light matter as it stands to have eternal consequences and can affect every choice made in this life. Nevertheless, most people blindly accept the faith of their parents. It makes sense that matters of belief should normally arise from those we trust. And in all parts of the world parents are trusted above others for wisdom and instruction. So I don't condemn anyone for simply accepting the faith of their parents and failing to seek after the truth. My own parents had differing beliefs and this probably made me question and search for truth more than most others. I don't consider myself better than anybody else for having searched the world's religions and philosophies, or inventing some of my own, nor am I better for having found the truth. Far more important is how I have applied what I have found.

I would like to share my own journey with you in these pages but before I do I should say that I have never understood how it is that any should have an advantage for being fortunate enough to have encountered and embraced the one right truth. Although common sense and diligence in the search might hold some merit, what seems to me most fair is to consider the goodness of the heart. And, please excuse my anthropomorphism, but this is how I instinctively imagine God to judge. On the one hand, if the heart is good, then it seems to me that truth will eventually make itself apparent. We would no longer run from it. On the other, there seem to be many goodhearted people who do not share the same faith that I have. In fact, some of their religions seem to me to be most destructive, possibly even inspired by demons. You may in reading this feel that way about my faith or my religion. Most people do have very strong feelings, even when thy have not diligently searched for the truth.

Ironically, in the faith which I have chosen, a strong possibility exists that a decision to chose the right religion is extremely important to God, even to the extent that it is a requirement for salvation and the experience of heaven. Some things that are counterintuitive for me I must accept according to certain tenets of my faith. As another example, hell, as a place of eternal suffering, and especially maximized suffering, or as a place of eternal burning, is thoroughly counterintuitive to me. However, I have come to accept that the Bible is true. And I have a great deal of respect for Tradition, as well. Thus I am compelled to accept the traditional interpretation of hell and also the need for salvation through Jesus Christ alone. Many reject the Christian faith for the sole reason that it has held these counterintuitive notions, and some others with them. Since I share these instincts I'm certainly not going to blame them.

Now, Jehovah's Witnesses and others have ventured to interpret the Bible without regard to Tradition, or with hostility towards it. And with that freedom they have taken advantage of intuition as it pertains to the notion of hell. And there are many issues of faith that deserve considered discussion. I will venture to delve into all of them in these pages over time if the Lord permits me.

As well, my entire journey of discovery warrants discussion. And this fits into a larger scheme of comparative religion. It is my intention to link this site to related sites and forums for discussion over time and to provide some summary thoughts on these pages as time allows. This will most surely be a slowly accomplished project as I will only be able to devote an hour or so to it per month until I am able to start working on it on a full time basis.

My goal is to lead my own children to an informed decision when they are ready and to provide a good means for other concerned parents to do the same. My guess is that your conclusions will probably be much the same as my own so long as you agree with my reasoning. If so the site should prove useful to you and to your own children and friends as they grow.
